Wendy Singleton
Warrent For Grand Theft Arrest
Carnival Splendor November 11, 2010
When the Carnival Cruise Lines' Carnival Splendor docked in San Diego, California on November 11, 2010, after being disable at sea by a fire, Wendy Singleton, 40, of Las Vegas, Nevada was pulled from the ship and arrested.

Carnival Splendor was suppose to return to the Port Of Long Beach, California where Splendor had embarked on a Western Mexico cruise, before the ship drifted at sea for four days at after a fire disabled her.

Harbor Police Officer Adam Miles said that Singleton was wanted on a Grand Theft arrest warrant out of Nevada.

It's somewhat amazing that Singleton was able to board the ship in Long Beach though a warrant for her arrest for in the database.  Yet, when she got to San Diego, the same database examined in San Diego a few days later, and she was arrested.

San Diego port spokeswoman Marguerite Elicone says a routine customs check when passengers were disembarking Splendor led to Singleton's arrest. She also said that another passenger was held for arrest, but it was a case of mistaken identity and he was released.
