Port Of Palm Beach Florida
Introducing Palm Beach, Florida
By Lena Hunt
Situated 135 miles south of Port Canaveral and 80 miles north of Miami is the Port of Palm Beach. This fourth busiest container port in the Florida sits in Palm Beach County and is an autonomous subdivision of Florida. It is also the eighteenth busiest port in the continental United States. Surrounded by beautiful waters, an idyllic town with quaint homes, and a dreamy island feel, cement, produce, utility fuels, bulk sugar, produce and break bulk items come and go at this major nodal point. Facilities must be maritime related and the maritime services are done through private warehouses, agents, and stevedores who are licensed permit holders.

The port is the only facility located in south Florida that operates a rail system, one that runs 24 hours per day and is a rail system with a pier side box, intermodal cars, and hopper. Six miles of trackage is located right on the property of the port. This trackage is used for transfers and handling.
Along with industrial and maritime purposes, travel and tourism plays a big role here as well.  When looking from one of her ships, passengers get one view of this port, which is industrial, and the other view is pictorial but both views are phenomenal. As it is smaller and private, there is no hustle and bustle. It's incredibly relaxed, getting in and out, parking and boarding is easy. The valet parking is only $15 per day and is run very smoothly and
systematically. Life just seems so, well relaxed, here.

As of March, 2010, the Bahamas Celebration Cruise Line has been deemed the “crown jewel” and the official cruise of this port, according to Port Executive Director Manny Almira. Local residents are thrilled because they no longer have to invest the time and fuel to drive to Miami or Fort Lauderdale to hop on a cruise ship. The Bahamas Celebration Cruise Line offers trips to the Grand Bahamas Island and the trip start from the gorgeous Riviera Beach in the Port of Palm Beach.
As the port offers direct access to the inter waterway and to the massive Atlantic Ocean, it offers yacht services as well. Many of the world's finest luxury yachts can be seen here as there is 24 hour security.
Amazing homes along beautiful waters and inlets contribute to the dreamy setting that  local residents, national and international travelers get to experience alongside busy international trade and maritime activities. You will feel the difference when embarking from the Port of Palm Beach, a much smaller and more quaint port.
