Onboard Bahamas Celebration
Caribbean Vacation Part Three
By Lena Hunt
Not too large, not too small, not too loud and not too quiet the Bahamas Celebration cruise ship provides the perfect balance. Couples who want to have a more intimate cruising experience can find many tucked away spots and families who want to be in the middle of all the activity will find that the ship has enough to entertain kids of all ages. There really is something for everyone on this ship. From luxury to casual, the Bahamas Celebration does indeed have it all. In addition, a two-night cruise gives you a taster to see if you like cruising.
The blue and white Bahamas Celebration cruise ship contrasts the puffy white sky and blends in perfectly with the azure water of the Port of Palm Beach. Boarding starts at noon but the cabins aren't usually ready until 2:00 p.m. So guests are encouraged to enjoy the ship's many amenities. The cruise line will hold your luggage and deliver them to your room so that you don't have to lug them around while waiting for your room to be cleaned. This is a free service and runs pretty smoothly.

Check in usually happens quickly and you'll find yourself inside a sparkling, shiny ship. Small and quaint yet large enough for youngsters of all ages to get lost in, going around and around and up and down each level looking for the dining deck, the lounge deck, the ice cream parlor, the teen hangout, and more. It becomes a game until you realize that you're famished from all the exercise but have no fear, food is everywhere. Cruises are known for food and this is no exception.
The kiddos can hang out in the Kid's Club with its amazing pool and water slide and the teens even have their own hangout places with computers and Internet, video games, and plenty of technology to keep them busy. Mom, Dad, and other adults, enjoy your time playing the slots and trying your luck in the Wynmore Casino. Take a lesson or two before you play. With penny slots on up to poker and blackjack, maybe Lady Luck is with you tonight.
The exclusive cruise ship that sails from Port of Palm Beach, Florida has a to-die-for buffet. The huge variety includes different salads, meat dishes, sandwich wraps, a carving station, plenty of fruits and vegetables, and delectable desserts. After the buffet, enjoy delicious Italian cuisine right next door. Celebration has four restaurants and all have their own style and flavor. One is formal and it is worth dressing up for. Each course is perfectly presented and the taste is surprisingly of world class level. It's unbelievable that you get so much for such a low price, really!
It really doesn't matter that a cruise ship's cabin is much smaller than a hotel room because you're never in it. The Fountain of Youth Spa & Salon offers body scrubs, facials, reflexology, aromatherapy, massages, and spa combination packages. Even have your hair cut, styled, and colored while on board. Once again, big surprises come in small packages and this smaller cruise ship creates another wonder as it delivers indulgences and pampering that is equivalent to larger cruise lines. Be sure to set an appointment because the spa does fill up rather quickly and you're not on the ship that long.
Savor a little more of Vegas with the live show that the ship offers. Now that's entertainment!
The pool deck is lots o' fun with a see-through pool. Bask in the coolness of the sun's heat or just watch people swim. It's pretty funny to look through the swimming pool to watch people as their heads appear disconnected from their bodies. And you'll notice some strange things as I did... a kid wearing white socks while swimming. Hmmm. Go figure.
To each his own I guess. While music plays, you'll be dancing in the water or dancing outside of the pool. Either way, chances are there will be a cheeseburger in paradise for you as they serve unlimited burgers, hotdogs, and fries. Large double chaise loungers with extra padded cushions make life just grand as you seek shelter on one of these under the shade of a large sun umbrella.
So the lyrics from an old 70s song rings in your head, “I love the night life, I've got to boogie...” Well, then put on your dancing shoes because The View plays live and recorded music. From the latest tunes to songs from the 50s and 60s, you'll love dancing to the beat of the nightclub on the sea. Exercise your vocal cords during karaoke in the Ocean Breeze Lounge.
And for those of you who prefer to get your exercise in a more fitness center-sort-of-way, there is the Mussel Beach Gym. State of the art exercise equipment will do a good job of making due as your gym-away-from-gym workout. Grab your iTouch or favorite book and hit the weights or cardio machines for a while. Why not? You now have the time.

For a smaller ship, they've managed to squeeze in a lot. A lot of bang for your buck, that is. Even looking at a model of the ship reveals that it hauls vehicles underneath and has more levels and points of interest than imaginable. It was fun just running around trying to locate some of these things.
Now don't compare this ship to a larger cruise line because it's like comparing apples to oranges. The price is phenomenally low, the cruise is incredibly short and doable in just a couple of days (especially during a weekend or when you have some time off), and for a smaller vessel, you really can't beat what you get onboard the Bahamas Celebration.
